Global Warming Impacts on Glacier National Park
"The increase in the earth's atmospheric and oceanic temperatures." (Merriam Webster)
The temperature in Glacier National Park is rising 1.8 times more quickly than in other areas. Higher temperatures lead to drier forests and the melting of glaciers. Glacier Park and many other areas on the West Coast have recently been experiencing more forest fires, and fires that are occurring earlier in the year because of the climate change caused by global warming. Global warming has also affected the glaciers that give the park its name. In 1850, there were 150 glaciers in the park. Today, there are only 25. By as early as 2020-2030, all of the glaciers could be gone.
